Negative 4th gen HIV test after PEP – am I done testing?

Test result

Exposure: Jan 1

Started PEP: Jan 3 (within ~48 hours)

Finished PEP: Jan 30

I took a 4th gen HIV antigen/antibody blood test on March 5 and the result was negative / non-reactive.

That’s about 9 weeks after exposure and ~5 weeks after finishing PEP.

My doctor told me if this test was negative I don’t need to come back or test again, but I’ve seen mixed things online about whether PEP changes the testing window.

Does this sound conclusive, or should I test again later (like at 12 weeks) just to be extra safe?
