Day and evening rooms dumb question

I'm probably dumb here about the purpose of these rooms, but is the intention to give us outdoor spaces because of the low outdoor decor budget?

I laid one down and was disappointed that I couldn't really attach a hallway to connect it other rooms like I could with traditional rooms.

I saw a video from a player showing their use of it and it was gorgeous but a very much 'outside' design.
