PSA: Steady Graphics Stuttering

Alright, so maybe this is a known thing, but, in case it isn't, I want to save the next space monkey some trouble if I can.

A few days ago, my Elite Dangerous - currently playing in flat, because I've been reading a book while exploring - started up an incredibly annoying graphics stutter that more or less matched the refresh rate of items in the task manager. Yada yada, troubleshooting, no luck, annoyance.

The solution seems to have ended up being unplugging the usb going to the Valve Index headset while playing in pancake mode. I'll check later if the stutter exists when playing in VR, but that's a problem for future me.
