Best budget amp

So I've asked this question before, What is a good starter amp and budget distortion pedal for death metal or thrash metal. Everyone usually either Boss katana or they say that's over rated and to get a Positive Grid spark, but then I hear the Positive Spark Live is a better amp. I even tried buying a Blackstar IDx 50. It came and none of the electronics worked so I had to send it back. I'd appreciate everyones input.
