AITAH for reporting my brother to OCS

I 30yo male, have worked in the health care field for over 10 years now. Part of my job was becoming a mandated reporter as I work with pediatrics and young teens.

Last week my nephew 22yo, called me saying he had concerns about his younger siblings and the things happening in the house. After a conversation it was brought to my knowledge that my Brother 44yo, has been allowing his 10yo, 13yo,15yo and 16yo to smoke marijuana as a form of praise for doing chores and other activities around the house.

I, being a mandated reporter, called OCS to make the report, knowing my older brother himself hasn’t been in the right headspace since his wife’s passing almost 2 years ago.

This has led my brother to quitting his job and living solely off survivor benefits and the government assistance programs. Since then he has spiraled into heavier alcoholism, smoking marijuana and occasionally taking psychedelics while also being on prescription meds.

Now my nieces and nephews are all angry with me for calling and reporting this.

Am I the asshole?
