kail called issac ugly on her story

issac got his DL or permit and complained about looking ugly in the photo and kail flat out said "yeah it's ugly but everyone's first one is ugly" she said it so casually and satisfactory like she was his friend and not his mom and he made a mad/sad face. it also seemed like she was pleasing herself for getting back at him for making fun of her.

am i wrong to think that was so uncalled for? i would never tell my child they're ugly, i would point out the good things and try to be uplifting. or use a different word like "awkward". i love everything about him even his funny/awkward photos! even if my son said somethign mean to me and hurt my feelings i wouldn't hurt his back because i'm an adult and he's my child. or maybe say we can change it later if you don't like it.

she acts/treats him like her friend and not her son! how is he supposed to be confident and strong in today's world when his mom is calling him ugly and clowning on him on her story in front of 3 million people.

kail is his first bully.
