So my friend and I got into a lengthy discussion about marriage and family in 2026, and we both agreed that marriage for men in 2026 is a very very bad idea. I wanted to post about some points we arrived at:

1. Marriage is a lose lose situation for men. Let’s say you get married, and for whatever reason in 6 months or a year you realize that this is not going to work. You are a logical, non toxic person and you decide it’s better to get a divorce than make both yourself and your wife miserable, so you try to get a divorce. The problem is that getting a divorce will be financially detrimental to you. You will have to pay alimony for years while the woman dates around, and you will have to give up a large chunk of your paycheck every month. If you have a job and EMIs to pay, you will be in deep trouble, and if you can’t pay for whatever reason, you go to jail. You will basically be slaving away and paying bills for a woman who doesn’t live with you.

2. If you have children in your marriage, they will be taken from you in a divorce. Single fathers are not given custody in 99% of cases, and not only will you have to pay alimony and child support, you will also not be able to have a normal relationship with your child and they are going to be used as a pawn for negotiations.

3. If you catch your wife cheating, you still have to pay alimony. The courts have ruled that even if you prove messages, calls, and even hotel stays, it doesn’t prove physical relationships, so I have no idea how you’re going to prove it. Imagine funding the lifestyle of a woman who slept with other men.

4. If you lose your temper, it will be used against you as “mental abuse,” and false allegations of DV are very common. In many cases, you and your family will be arrested.

5. If you meet someone in an arranged marriage situation, it is almost guaranteed that you will find out they are still in touch with their ex, and if it feels like betrayal to you, well good luck because there’s nothing you can do.

6. Women are obsessed with marriage. If you are marrying a girl with a past, everyone in that wedding will know about her adventures while you sit there like a clown marrying the girl while others laugh at your expense.

7. Lots of married men today live in sexless marriages and most lie about this. Most marriages today are sexless, and ask yourself, in a marriage is there any reason for a woman to give sex? You are basically obligated to provide for her, you see her every day, all the time, she knows you can’t get better or leave, and you are forced to beg and grovel for sex. It will be used as leverage against you.

8. A woman is incentivized to break off a marriage. She can get out of a marriage whenever she wants without any consequences. You will be forced to pay her to live, and she can just do whatever she wants while you cannot.

9. I don’t think anyone should have any control over anyone in a relationship, but everyone is allowed to have boundaries. Let’s say you are uncomfortable with your wife staying outside after 9 pm, or her wearing a revealing dress, but if she does, what are you going to do? Go back to point 1. If you really think about it, you are not allowed to have any boundaries or enforce them.

10. “My wife will be different.” Nobody is a saint, my friend. Your wife can be a kind person, but do you really think when a lawyer tells her it’s dumb for her to not take free money from you, and how it’s justified that she claim money from you, she’s just going to say no thank you, I don’t want free money? No.

**This has nothing to do with women suffering in marriages and the problems they face I’m not trying to belittle their problems in any way, I’m only discussing the pros and cons of marriage from a male perspective.**

After discussing all this, we seemed to agree marriage is a very bad idea for men in 2026, and everyone getting married is just gambling with their lives. What do you guys think about this?

Stop dreaming about getting married it’s a nightmare
