Is 25/26 too old to go back to school?
So I didn’t exactly ever want to go to college- I never really wanted a lot out of life and figured I could make it work working at a factory or manufacturing setting. Ya know just like a single bed or studio apartment, enough to eat, enough to spoil my dog, etc etc
Well given the climate, obviously that’s not going to work out. I’ve been struggling since leaving a trade school with work. I graduated from there right when Covid was at its worst, and now it’s basically impossible to get back into the field I studied for. Even then? The pay for it is really bad and hasn’t been adjusted for inflation at all. They pay less now than they did 4 years ago.
So I was thinking of getting back into college through my community college and entering into nursing. I figured I might be good at it- I did really well in school and enjoyed my time in medical manufacturing since I knew the products were going to be helping people. I’m just a bit self conscious since I’m in my mid 20s now and honestly I have no idea how I’ll make enough while being a full time student. I live with my parents still so that’ll help a lot, obviously, but man. Am I too old for this? How do people do it? How do they juggle work and schooling?
