Apple: Produces an apple tree-like horse with a crazy hat and two "branch" appendages, but no legs.

Hay/hay bale: Produces a yellow rectangle with 5 leg appendages.

Hot sauce: Produces a bullet-shaped brown-orange thingy with green hair.

Beer: Produces a small yellow rectangle with orange blotches and a round bottom, with a cat-like tail hanging off the side and spikes on top.

Dung (not pictured): Produces a random regular-looking horse. Not exciting.

Meat (not pictured): Same as dung.

I tried all other items that I know of except the rocket and they do not register. I do plan to try the rocket though I imagine it will also not produce anything. I'm gonna let the food critters run wild in an isolated containment area and see what wacky things they produce. Let me know what you think or if I missed anything!

UPDATE: The only one of these amalgamations that can move around and reproduce in the wild is the apple tree. I have watched it reproduce with the hot sauce creature, but they pretty quickly die out and can't maintain a population for long. I'll try experimenting a bit and see what I can come up with.

UPDATE 2: I decided to do some mixing in the stable at my house and bred a few of the amalgamations together to produce sentient creatures that can walk around and reproduce. After a few generations I got some interesting results, but nothing beyond what you might expect from some screwed up genetic modifying on this game. Mostly just brown rectangles that stand upright with black sticks and balls on their heads. It is interesting that a few are also sapient and one started its own stable though. Anyway happy horsing everyone!

Here are the items other than fossils that you can extract DNA from, and what they produce with the gene drive!
