Hearing loss in left ear after a flight

Injury

Today is Friday and on Monday night I flew from New York back to London. We arrived on Tuesday. As we descended my ears were in a lot of pain, and as we got off the plane and went through the airport I put my loop earplugs in (small noise cancelling earbuds) just to minimise the noise and I would get a sharp pain as I put them in and they were very uncomfortable to wear. The drive home was awful, I was in agony with my ears, especially my left one, I was crying and yelling. I took some paracetamol and eventually the pain reduced enough for me to be able to sleep as I got Back home. Now it’s Friday and I’ve had no pain since then but I woke up today with my left ear feeling very muffled. I went to take my loop earplugs out my left ear thinking it was in there as I noticed how quiet it felt on that side, just to realise that I wasn’t wearing it. I’ve been listening to music with my wired headphones and the left one sounds as if it’s not working. There’s still sound it’s just a lot quieter. Has anyone else experienced this? And should I get it checked out or just wait for my hearing to return to normal?
