How do you deal with missing work due to BPPV?

I've had BPPV happen once every few years for the last 20 years. Sometimes it lasts a day and that's it. During the past year, it kept coming back over several weeks, and came back again recently.

I usually have to call out sick at least one day, but my current job is more physical and requires bending which can make the symptoms worse. I usually get a doctor's note as a precaution and have it say that I need the next two days off. I always feel weird explaining that I'm "sick" since it's not a cold or flu. Sometime I've just said it's vertigo or an inner ear problem.

Just wondering if anyone has had issues with missing work due to this condition. It's been so bad that even when I was working from home I had to take two days off just for nausea.
