Laundry day is always the hardest

I never really enjoyed doing laundry, but it was always something I did for us when we were together because I knew she genuinely despised it. It made me feel helpful and appreciated to be able to do that for her. I was your typical male bachelor before we started dating, so of course my wardrobe was mostly worn out and not tasteful. Over the years of our relationship she would buy me new clothes regularly and ask me to get rid of some of my old stuff so as not to keep excessive clutter and I was happy to oblige. It was nice to get new clothes. One of our first interactions before the relationship was her noting the fact I had a huge hole in the crotch of my pants. We laughed about that all the time. I really liked my new wardrobe and she did too, always complimenting on how she liked me in such and such color or style. I never once thought I would regret having nearly my entire wardrobe being replaced but each time I do laundry now it’s a struggle to not just break down into tears. My apartment had a fire in the building so our laundry facilities on site are no longer operating so I go to the laundromat once a week and it’s still one of the hardest things for me to do.
