Do you have to play these dumb Star matches in my Rise or can you skip?

So in my rise you have to play these matches where you have to get to 12 stars to continue. Most matches only go for 2-3 stars before it gets boring. So that’s almost 4-5 useless matches. And there like 1 after another. Please say you can skip these.
