My experience buying wedding trousseau and lehenga from Sabhya Bridal/Sabhya Couture

This has been one of the most stressful and disappointing experiences I’ve had my entire life.

I placed my order months in advance, paid the advance amount, and gave the designer everything he required well ahead of time. Even after giving more than 2.5 months for one outfit and 1.5 months for another, I am writing this two days before my wedding and I still don’t have my outfits. While he is telling me they will be delivered today. The dtdc courier guy called me, because this guy played the cheapest trick in the book.

I had done 75% of my payment in advance. Looking at his pattern, i told him i will clear his balance (which btw now he is charging 8500 more than what he quoted) immediately once i get my outfits. He authorized the payment to the courier guy, and asked him not to deliver my outfits unless the payment is cleared.

So, he wants blind trust from his clients, which he is absolutely undeserving of and delays to the maximum extent possible. And in return wants to clients to make the payments irrespective of when how or where the outfits are getting delivered. Literally, it’s not even a delay in payment and he made sure my outfit isn’t delivered without the payment in advance.

The entire process has been a cycle of empty promises and constant delays and such cheap tricks in the end. I was repeatedly told “it will be done today” or “it will be shipped tomorrow,” but none of those commitments were ever followed through. Every time I followed up, there was a new excuse. But payments, man oh man!! 100% advance irrespective of his own deliverables.

At this point, despite spending around ₹1 lakh, I was no longer even concerned about how the outfits will turn out. I’m simply praying they get delivered at all before the wedding. We were supposed to leave for the venue today morning, as of 3:30 PM, we are still at my home, waiting for my outfit.

Planning a wedding is already overwhelming, but this experience pushed me to multiple breakdowns and panic attacks right before one of the most important days of my life. No bride should have to deal with this level of stress because a vendor cannot keep basic commitments.

If you value your peace of mind, i strongly suggest against ordering from here, especially for important events with fixed timelines. And if you absolutely must order from them, give them a fake date at least a month earlier than your actual event and be prepared to chase them constantly asking for pictures and proofs —otherwise you risk being left in the same situation I am in right now.
