Does RE7 get less scary later in the game?

I just bought RE7 and haven’t even gotten out of the house yet, but Jack scares the shit out of me. I’m genuinely starting to consider putting the game down because I hate constantly being chased by the guy. I’ve ran out of ammo for the handgun and can’t search to find more because he spawns literally everywhere I go. I admit maybe it’s my fault as I assumed RE7 was similar to the previous games but it seems like an entirely different type of gameplay. Does it ease up a bit or does the entire game have the same kind of feel to it, I’m curious to see how it unfolds and the story behind it but I actually don’t know how much more I can take of this lol.
