The random phone call that saved my entire week

Personal Experience

Last month, I had one of those weeks where everything felt like it was piling up at once.

Work was stressful, I wasn’t sleeping well, and little things kept going wrong. You know when it feels like the universe just decided to press the hard mode button on your life for a few days? That was basically my situation.

One evening, I got home completely drained. I threw my bag on the chair, made some instant noodles, and sat on the couch scrolling through my phone just trying to relax.

Then I got a call from an unknown number.

Normally, I ignore those, but for some reason, I picked it up.

The guy on the phone sounded a little awkward at first. He asked if I had recently lost something near the bus stop close to my office. My first thought was that it was some kind of scam, but then he mentioned my wallet.

Apparently, it had fallen out of my pocket earlier that day, and I didn’t even notice. He found it on the ground while walking past the bus stop. Inside was an old card with my phone number on it, so he decided to call.

Honestly, I was shocked.

We met later that evening at a small café nearby. He handed me the wallet, and literally everything was still inside my cards, my ID, even the cash.

I tried to give him some money as a thank you, but he wouldn’t take it. He just laughed and said someone helped him the same way a few years ago, so he was just “passing it forward.”

We talked for maybe ten minutes and then went our separate ways.

It was such a small interaction, but it completely changed my mood that week. It reminded me that even when life feels chaotic, there are still good people quietly doing the right thing.

I never even learned much about the guy, but I still think about that moment sometimes.
