Are third party docks safe? Or should I stick with the official Lenovo one?

I was thinking about picking up this dock for my Legion Go S z1e:

Reading through the various reviews on the various docks, I've seen that most people seem pretty happy with them, but very infrequently there is a review saying that the dock killed their device when it was charging.

These things aren't cheap and I don't want to ruin it by something caused by a third party option. Do you think it's okay to use these or should I stick with the Lenovo one? It's a little more expensive and doesn't have quite as many features but it's the official brand named one.
