Seeking for advice, tenant decided not to continue the lease.

1 week palang sila and they decided not to continue dahil nagka problem daw sila. Upon move in half of the payment requirement ang binigay at nakiusap na the following week ibibigay dahil sa isa nilang kasama, then biglang nag decide sila not to continue anymore. No contract din because I wanted to see all of the tenant muna and all of them will sign pero ung kasama nila no show. I decided to forfeit the DP and treat it as a 1 month notice since I had other potential tenant but declined them. Is this okay? Or should I just charge them a daily rate?
