rebooking Avios flight with no alternative Avios availability

I have an award flight with Avios purchased through BA but operated by Qatar through Doha, scheduled to travel within the dates mentioned in the guidance: https://www.britishairways.com/travel-partner-connect/disruptions/2026/dxb-auh--bah-amm---doh-book-away-policy#latest

under this policy, are they supposed to rebook to a different airline operated flight (BA or another route) that avoids layover in the Middle East? there’s no Avios availability besides Qatar, so I’m wondering if they’re flexible. would appreciate anyone’s first hand experience.
