Done now

I have been working in corporate for 7 years now (it doesn’t sound like much but it feels it). I have had 2 promotions and one lateral move (due to moving in location). And I think I’m done.

My job pays well, I work remotely most days, the company has won awards for women in the work place, I have decent holiday allowance (7 weeks including bank holidays). But the days are long (contractually 45 hour weeks but ofc usually longer than this). And my current team kinda sucks. People talk to each other like NPCs, it’s ridiculous. I’ve decided I’m going to stay 6 more months and then I’ll become a housewife.

So much of my identity is the corporate girl who has a serious degree and job and wouldn’t rely on a man - but i genuinely don’t know how people do this. I’d rather have children than carry on working - and I hate children.

I will miss the money. I have absolutely zero guilt when buying ridiculous stuff at the moment but we are still saving for a house so I’ll have to rein it in. My husband is supportive but I am nervous about relying on him tbh
