Do you think for Peeta he is someone who really cares about being a good person and not just to Katniss?

He really seems to make an effort to be kind and compassionate, not just to Katniss but to most around him. There seems something very intentional about his good character. It is genuine and that is what makes is so sad when his hijacking steals that from him. Yet in the end he mostly finds his way back
