Proofademic AI for ai detection. Honest review after using it on 3 assignments
I've been running my university submissions through proofademic.ai for the past month and figured I'd share what actually happened, good and bad, so you can decide if it's worth adding to your workflow.
What I liked:
- It flags ai generated content and plagiarism in one check, so I'm not juggling two separate tools.
- The breakdown is clear, it shows you exactly which sections are flagged, not just a overall score.
- Turnaround is fast. I wasn't sitting there waiting while a deadline was creeping up
What to watch out for:
- It's a checker, not a fixer. If something gets flagged, you still need to go back and rework it yourself
- If your writing style naturally sounds structured and formal (like mine does), expect a minimal false positives on ai detection. That's not unique to Proofademic because all detectors have this but Proofademic rarely does this.
My verdict:
- If you're submitting work regularly and want to catch issues before your institution does, Proofademic is genuinely useful. The combined plagiarism & AI detection in one place saves real time.
- If you write everything from scratch and never touch AI tools, you still need it. And if you're anywhere in between, paraphrasing sources, using AI for a first draft, or just want peace of mind, it's worth running your work through before you hit submit.
My workflow:
- Finish the draft (however I get there)
- Run it through Proofademic AI
- Check the flagged sections, plagiarism and AI separately
- Rewrite anything that's a real concern
- Run it once more for confirmation
- Submit
