Revision Pain Post-Op - What’s Normal?
Hi,
I had revision surgery almost 6 weeks ago and am in more pain during recovery than I expected. It’s not constant but the flare ups are intense and Tylenol / ibuprofen do not bring sufficient relief.
I’m weaning off my single crutch now - my PT said so long as the pain isn’t a constant 9/10 for like 2-3 days I’m fine and this is the normal course of recovery. I don’t remember it being this intense the first time around, though I’ve been dealing with pain for so long that it all kinda blurs together.
My PT progress has been good and I’m definitely feeling more mobile, but the pain has been tough to manage and I’m paranoid that something went wrong (especially since my first surgery was failed).
I had 3 anchors in this time, mild bone contouring, scar tissue and adhesion removal. For those who’ve had revision, did you find the pain was worse the second time around? When did you start to feel less frequent / intense pain?
