Hi all - I posted a few days back that a 5.7cm mass on my right kidney was found during a CT of my heart. They said it was only partially visualized so not sure if it’s actually bigger, a cyst or what. I can’t get my MRI with contrast done for two weeks, so my brain is going wild right now. I’m trying not to worry but that’s easier said than done. My sister is nurse and sometimes nurses can be a little more opinionated with their family members (love her but man she doesn’t let me get a word in).

So anyways, I had random questions I was hoping to get advice on -

My sister said this is small, so that’s a good sign. 5.7cm doesn’t feel small to me?

She mentioned after my MRI my PCP will order a biopsy if she thinks it’s cancer. I said I wanted a referral to a kidney doctor and I didn’t want a biopsy unless they ordered one - that started a fight because she thinks my PCP will care more and have more time for me until we figure out what it is

Has anyone had a mass seen and it turned out to be a cyst?

I’m having trouble sleeping or focusing the last few days, my whole world feels like it’s been flipped.
