Warm take! Valtteri Bottas makes it through to Q2.

OK, probably not, but I was thinking about how many crazy things would need to happen for Cadillac to make it out of Q1, and realized that it was not that many crazy things.

He needs to beat 6 guys. Let’s just assume he’s ahead of two Astons and one Checo (no Checo shade, Valtteri just seems to have the early upper-hand.) That’s three.

Not that crazy to think that someone in the top ten has some kind of mechanical, or ill-timed lockup, or Q1-brain-fart-failure-of-strategy or something. That’s four.

So even if nobody else has major issues, maybe he just needs to beat a slower Alpine and maybe a slower Williams? (Props to Audi for not making the list.)

Yeah. It’s unlikely, but I enjoyed thinking it through.
