Which of the following two jobs would you pick?

Advice

I’ve interviewed for two different jobs and been offered positions with both. I’m not the most decisive person at the best of times so I’m coming to Reddit for advice.

Job 1 looks on the surface to be a dream role. From my interactions with the interviewers, impressions from a tour of the site and from my own research, their philosophy aligns almost perfectly with my own. The boss has told me that he is really keen for me to work there and that he sees a lot of potential for progression within the company. It has a big budget and spends well on making sure employees have everything they need to do their jobs properly. I was also told at interview that I’d have the freedom to do the job basically in any way I wanted to, provided I was able to meet the expectations of the role.

Job 2 is for a similar role but for a much smaller company with a smaller budget (although there is still a decent amount to work with). It could offer similar freedoms and the boss is equally keen to employ me. The site is a lot more modest and it would take a lot more effort and time to build (the other role has everything pretty much already in place). The upside is that this job offers a much better salary (£11k a year more) with a much better pension.

So it’s a choice between working somewhere that’s incredibly well equipped and that will give me a high degree of freedom, but that doesn’t pay so well or somewhere that will take longer to build but that pays a lot more.
