Weird middle-aged women
I’ve read and enjoyed:
- Everyone Knows Your Mother is a Witch by Rivka Galchen
I love the protagonist in this book. She doesn’t necessarily mean to be weird, she just marches to the beat of her own drum and upsets people by not caring as much as they think she should what everyone else thinks.
- Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk
The protagonist in this book is weird and a very unreliable narrator. The people around her don’t share her values, and she’s slowly coming unglued as a result.
I’m currently reading:
- The Wax Child by Olga Raven
This one is about witchcraft, or accusations of witchcraft, in 17th century Denmark. Features some odd women for sure.
Has anyone read these? What other books would you recommend with weird middle-aged women?
