mercury bank asking for website and portfolio work when applying?

i’m a freelance copywriter and all of my clients are word of mouth, i don’t have a portfolio or a website since the client load i’ve had for the past 5 years has been massive, so i’ve never had a need to go pitching for more business.

do i need to make a website and a portfolio to apply? its setup in a way that i can’t continue the application until ive submitted both
