Does anyone else feel a strong sensory or aesthetic attraction to certain environments?

General Discussion/Question

I’ve been thinking about something that has been part of me since childhood and I’m curious if anyone else experiences it and if it could be somewhat related to autism. Some environments just fascinate me in a very sensory or aesthetic way. For example, medical spaces. I’m drawn to the smells, the sounds, the precise movements, the tools neatly arranged, the ritual gestures, the terms used by the doctors, even things like putting on gloves or the sound of it. I loved going to the dentist as a kid which is pretty weird lol and of course i loved playing doctor.

I had thought about studying medicine, but even without the knowledge or skills of a doctor, I think I would be happy just working as an assistant in a medical office. It’s the aesthetic and sensory side that really excites and satisfies me.

Does anyone else experience something similar, a kind of aesthetic or sensory pull toward certain environments, objects, or routines?
