With CS:GO "relaunching" I feel vindicated - I was right and many people agree, the game feels better, especially spraying.

Discussion

I want to preface that I am well aware CS:GO was still accessible while CS2 was out, just not separately, but because of how it was accessible, and the fact that it was swiftly removed by VALVe as a separate client, I just gave up on it knowing it would inadvertently die a swifter death due to obscurity (CS:GO is still arguably more obscure than CS 1.6 and CS:S)

Now, having played for quite a bit CS2 and re-downloading CS:GO I can finally say to everyone telling me both games are basically the same, no, they are not, not even close. CS:GO feels much more responsive, and spraying feels like night and day between the two games.

I love the lighting of CS2, the updated maps and the smokes, but that's about it.

I'm going to say it. CS:GO at it's peak actually made me forget about CS 1.6, it made me say that after so many years of effort, VALVe had finally surpassed the old CS, and man did I miss it. I sometimes play CS 1.6 and CS:S for the nostalgia factor, but with CS:GO it's different, I wish Faceit brought back servers for it, I crave to once more climb up the ladder as I doubt I can go back to CS2 in the state that it is.
