The story makes even less sense after my second playthrough.

SpoilerLore Discussion

Hello everyone.

After my second playthrough, I realized that I’m completely confused about the game’s plot.

  1. Why did Gideon need to kill Alyssa? As far as I understood, the hunt was originally for Grace. It seems that at the last moment the zombie simply died right in front of her after saying “Got you.” Then, somehow, for nine whole years she just lived her normal life and nobody managed to abduct her. The only note about this says that “she’s a homebody and her apartment is close to the FBI building.” Is that really the only explanation for this?

  2. Why did the Raccoon City syndrome appear only almost 30 years later? It feels extremely forced, almost like pure fan service. How does the new T-virus strain actually work? How is it connected to memory if, previously, the transfer of consciousness was associated with Phobos?

  3. There’s also major confusion regarding the clones. Gideon found Grace’s medical records and assumed she was Spencer’s secret consciousness-transfer project, while in reality Ozwell simply adopted a random child. But then they started creating clones using her DNA in order to somehow “extract” Spencer’s memories and obtain the Elpis password. At the same time, the clone program itself (like Emily) supposedly began long before Grace was even born. Meanwhile, Victor himself states that she actually has nothing to do with them. Yet when Zeno shows Grace the recording, she experiences flashbacks, clearly hinting at some kind of inherited memory activation. If this is merely a red herring, it honestly starts to feel like a soap opera plot: it gives you a brief emotional moment and then immediately forgets about it.

  4. Finally, what is the point of Sherry appearing in this story? I’ve seen some people writing nonsense about her having a relationship with Leon, but that sounds absurd. Characters like Claire or Jill would have made much more sense in that role.

I would appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this.
