Do Emirates look at all your connecting flights before cancelling?

My parents are currently in Kolkata, India. their flight back to the UK via Dubai starts on Monday, however, they have a planned three day stopover in Dubai and then a flight on Thursday back home.

Emirates have said customers transiting in Dubai will only be accepted for travel if their connecting flight is operating, so as they’re staying a few days and not directly transiting, would Emirates take this into consideration before allowing them to fly to Dubai?

Has anybody got any prior experience with this or any advice for us? Thank you
