How to get emirates to give some sort of compensation?

My flight from iah to dxb was delayed 15 hrs on Feb 12 (before the conflict now), was told I can submit a complaint after my trip was completed.

The response I got was that it was completely out of their control and cannot provide any compensation. What can I do?? This is completely wrong. Any 6+ hour delay in EU automatically applies for at least 600$ back. This is unacceptable but I don’t know what my next step should be. Please advise. TIA!!
