Well just moved, we bought our first house, during the worst housing market in history. So excuse the mess. Will be spending all weekend getting my shop set back up. So i can go back to being a mad scientist with guitar/audio gear. I have Bluetooth wired into one of those huge 70’s record player/radios with 15” alnico speakers and i can beam pandora or anything from my phone to it. So ill kust rock out and clean/unpack..fyi I just used the AUX in and got a cheap Bluetooth receiver with RCA jacks from amz in case anyone wants to do this. Ill turn anything into gear. I made a pedal out of an old heath clock radio from a thrift shop as a challenge from a friend. Could not use anything that wasn’t in box he gave me, the circuit board was on a piece of cardboard ripped from a sandwich bag box. It sounded so good i made actual real pedals from it called “Sweetest Taboo” i digress..

This mono price wiring is a mess you font have to tell me, i just wanted it quick and dirty see if all these mods work then ill clean it up snd the next ones will be perfect. The preamp is a combo of a Harmony 5 watt amp and a Hi Octane (a design from the old Ax84.com man did i have sone fun there before it died. Can check projects on the way back machine, though they can be glitchy and they don’t have the most up-to-date schematics. Let me know if anybody needs them.)

Ok what was done: (and keep in mind this is a totally silly mod to a working amp, i just get bored especially with limited gear/parts because of move…)

\-Tube sockets moved to chassis

\-12ax7 preamp tube added (to accommodate another gain stage 3 total, and a cathode follower, will be adding cath bias mod to it on future rebuilds, with 2k 2 watt pot, and some 100ohm resistors)

\-gain 1 and gain 2 on front, master volume on back, simple tone control next to tubes, a set and forget knob, i like tone come from guitar or pedals especially with single ended builds,

\- once i put new 8” speaker in (Jensen alnico) and clean the wiring ill post clips

I got this amp when it was 99 on eBay and since i have so many to play it sat for 3 years or more in attic. So its what i did with scrounged parts/wire a old soldering gun, and some schems. Will post again once i get my Lab built, got some exciting amps to work on /mod 50’s -70’s gear, will make youtube vids as well. If anyone needs advice or schemes msg me..
