Wife Needs a Car!

Hi,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Someone hit my wife's car and it's been deemed totaled. We are looking for a SUV all in for $15k max but would consider a sedan/hatchback. She drives about 10k miles per year currently as she only drives to clients homes three days a week and we take my car everywhere else. She would like AWD or 4WD as we are in New England area. She's coming from a 2013 base trim Sonic.

I am leaning towards Honda CR-V, Toyota Rav4 for Mazda CX-5.

For these models, how high is too high for mileage? Usually I wouldn't consider a car with 125k+ miles but considering she doesn't drive a lot, it should be fine, right? Also, how much does the year of the car matter compared to the miles driven (i.e. 2014 with say 90k miles vs a 2018 with 130k miles)?

I see other models available like the VW Taos or Ford Edge/Explorer that are on the newer end (2019-2022) with fewer miles than the three models I listed above in the same price range but obviously not as reliable. Should I ignore those or consider them since, like I said, she doesn't drive a lot?
