Are Pokestop nominations still causing random bans?

Hi guys, I've been afraid to nominate Pokestops since for a while, people were getting their accounts banned by Wayfarer for minor infractions. There are quite a few little libraries and bike path / trail signs near my apartment that haven't been added to the map. But I've been scared to submit nominations because of... you know, all of that.

Has there been any resolution? Anybody have trouble (or success!) with nominations lately? Thanks for any info!
