Just wrapped up the Tonecheer A Midsummer Night’s Dream and it’s stunning. One thing Tonecheer does really well is the placement of punch-out tabs on their wood sheets — those little nubs left behind after popping pieces out. They’re strategically positioned so that many of them end up hidden in the final assembly. It’s a small thing that makes the finished build look so much cleaner.

A couple of instruction quirks worth noting: there’s what appears to be a misprint on the part number for the back mirror (obvious enough to figure out), and the step order for the fairy on the ceiling swing is backwards — you’re told to hang the swing first and then attach the fairy, when it’s clearly much easier the other way around. Minor complaints in the grand scheme of things.

The acrylic pieces needed glue, but that’s totally fine — better than forcing them and risking a crack. The dust cover was a highlight for me. It integrates into the actual design rather than just sitting in a random slot, and a small shelf at the top helps it clear the build perfectly. Really well thought out.

The motion-sensitive lights are what really make this one special. They’re just magical on a fairy build like this. Loved it.
