Who is the "real" you?

:chat: Just Chatting

Whenever someone drinks a lot, people say their real self comes out. Whenever someone snaps, people say, they are finally saying what they want to say. Both are harmful rhetoric but where does it come from?

In modern life, we show a lot of inauthentic behaviours either as part of a social cue or just to hide ourselves.

Then, theres our interpersonal connections. Friend, husband, brother, coworker. Adopting so many roles that only allows only a faucet of the soul to be known. Nothing wrong with that. That coworker you dont like doesnt need to know you enjoy cooking.

But throughout all these personas, labels and expectations, who is the real you?

Who am I? What makes me happy? When and where can I be 100% myself if I even know what 100% me is like?

Somethings are fairly simple and immediately tells us who we are. We dont like violence, we like cute things that warms our heart.

But on a deeper level, things get complicated and individualised. Our insecurities, fears, guilty pleasures. The kind of things no other human is sculpted by.

Im 22 and I still dont know who I am fully
