Can leaving the oil lid off for a few minutes damage your car? 2016 Malibu LTZ

I left it off while it was running for maybe a minute or two, and immediately it started running like crap, stalling, no cruise control, throwing codes for bad MAF sensor and vacuum leak. I changed the MAF sensor and the codes remained after resetting.

Eventually, after a couple thousand more miles, it would stall after cranking unless I revved the motor. And eventually after running it out of gas, I started getting “engine power reduced” messages, two or three times in a row, and now only cranks but won’t start.

Also having issues with the power locks not working on the fob or inside the vehicle unless I turn the key, the radio staying on even after the key is out and the doors have been opened. So I don’t know if this is a BCM issue or what. Any ideas?
