My Ditto X2 finally shit the bed after 10+ years of faithful service, so I decided to replace it with…the DL4 MK2 (lol). Might as well get some delays and reverbs with my new looper. And since I’ve never posted like this before, here’s my signal chain (from start to finish):

Harmony Silhouette: love this guitar. Straightforward American-made offset that sounds amazing and plays like a dream. Plus it has a nitro finish! All of the new Harmony guitars are an insane value.

Mid-Fi Electronics Random Phase & Vibrato: super underrated builder (at least on this subreddit) of which I am a huge fan. Makes a ton of unique drives and envelope-controlled effects. Fully CCW is a random 3 stage vibrato, fully CW is a slightly stronger 5 stage vibrato. Anywhere in between blends them together to create random phase cancellation. Adds some beautiful movement.

Fairfield Circuitry Accountant: killer compressor with a ton of character, and some grit at higher settings. Always on, and occasionally will switch to an extreme setting for a heavily affected lo-fi squish.

DIY Double SHO Boost: fun build. 2 Z Vex Super Hard On circuits stacked into each other, so that 1 knob is gain and the other is master volume. This one is always on, barely breaking up.

Boss BD-2: My favorite spongey/fizzy distortion. The JC-40 loves it.

EAE Halberd (v1): my overdrive sound. Never leaves my board; nothing else sounds quite like it. A warm, crackly, transistor-y drive

Peterson Strobostomp: great tuner

OBNE Dark Star: You all know it. Killer pad reverb.

Ibanez DE-7: one of my all time favs. The ‘Echo’ mode is the best analog emulation I’ve ever heard. Long delay times, too

Mid-Fi Electronics Demo Tape Fuzz: like I said, I don’t see enough mid-fi in this sub. The demo tape fuzz has been doing the massive blown-out tascam/console sound for over ten years. Gets HEAVY as hell, but still retains note clarity. Neutral Milk Hotel in a box.

Fairfield Shallow Water: you all know it. When I’m not using it fully wet for a gated lo-fi random vibrato, I like to set the mix at noon, LPG open (fully CW), and Rate + Depth + Damp all at 3 o’clock. Makes for a very cool flanger-esque sound, and you can feel the damp working overtime to smooth out the waveform.

DL4 MK2: Still getting to know this one, but I LOVE the looper.

Roland JC-40: I love this amp with all my heart. Don’t let anyone tell you it can’t take drive pedals - they are wrong.

SOTB + NPD (DL4 MK2)!
