Concern about Shyvana losing her “stickiness” with the MS changes in the rework

One thing that always made Shyvana feel unique to me was that she had no hard CC, but compensated for it with consistent movement speed to stay on top of targets. That identity is what separated her from a lot of other bruisers.

In my mind she was similar to champs like Master Yi or Diana, but with more durability, and her sticking power came from movement speed rather than CC.

With the rework though, the movement speed duration looks heavily gutted. It went from roughly 7 seconds of MS to about 2.5 seconds, and that’s only if the shield lasts the full duration. In a lot of real fights that shield is probably getting popped quickly, meaning the effective MS window could be even shorter.

That’s where my concern comes in. Without CC and with much shorter MS uptime, I’m struggling to see how Shyvana will realistically stick to targets, especially against modern champs with multiple dashes or slows.

To me, Shyvana’s identity was always about relentless pursuit rather than lockdown. She didn’t stop you she ran you down.

Also thematically it feels a bit strange. Dragons are supposed to be fast, terrifying predators. It feels odd if a healthy young dragon can be casually jogged away from.

My suggestion for change is:

  • Remove the movement speed from her w and instead add a burst of movement speed after each Q activation. Q has shorter CD meaning your movement speed will be consistently higher. Bursting her shield will no longer totally stop her.
  • Alternatively make the movementspeed buff on w longer by either have it interact with autoattacks as before and have the movement speed buff be there regardless if the shield is up or not.
