Question (immediate dentures)

I had my extractions last Tuesday, and I have a big ole history of substance abuse so we decided to do just tylenol and ibuprofen, and surprisingly that part all seemed to go better than I thought it would as far as pain management after.

But this Tuesday I had my sutures removed, and he did 2 adjustments and the bottom one he did, haven't really had any problems with since. I had to go back yesterday (Thurs) to get the top adjusted again, as it was creating a really sore spot near where my gums meet the lip area when I'd try to eat or drink or make any kind of sucking movement. It seemed like through the rest of the day it was feeling better, mostly just pain when there would be some big movements but no longer when taking drinks - thank god.

Now my question and I guess where I'm feeling really discouraged this morning, it didn't hurt nearly as bad this morning to seat them as it did yesterday morning pre-adjustment, but that tissue is still so tender. So when I placed them this morning, there wasn't really any "sharp" pain, but it is tender and movements are making it ache... I'm hoping it's just the really irritated tissue still healing from the pressure that was rubbing earlier in the week- but I'm getting in my head about if I am going to realize over the weekend that I need to go back in, and I go back to work this Tuesday and my dentist office isn't open every day during the week.

So just looking for your experience with adjustments and if 24 hours is way too soon to be panicking that it didn't work. I know the spot where the pain is, was also a really rough and broken tooth so I'm not sure if that made the extraction there more difficult and is contributing to the problem I feel right now.

It's so discouraging 😭
