Are there any *credible* organizations in the east bay that work with veterans and their families on getting housing?

We are working with one right now after poor communication with the city of alameda housing authority. However, the reviews for places like this don’t tend to be promising. They said they’d put us in a hotel with nice room service - we are in one in the east bay that had dirty bedsheets, though thankfully no bugs. They are kind enough to pay it off for 2 months, but even though they made it sound promising to my father over the phone, I don’t know that it’s a great idea to trust it after the experience with the alameda authority, especially since people online are saying it was actually a struggle for them to get the housing

without having good credi. The city of alameda housing authority had initially misplaced our family’s application after it had been sent over by a case manager in December (when I went up there in person, the front desk staff member seemed to remember one of my parents’ names when I mentioned it, but we had to follow up more than 3 times before getting a response and when we did we were told that we are over the income limit. The case manager!: supervisor said they’d call my father, who was in the hospital 2 weeks ago, back and follow up. She never did. When he went in person on a cold day wherein it said online that they were open, they were closed and had multiple people waiting outside.
