The Newly Introduced Kids Online Safety Act Effectively Forces Tech Platforms to Use Biometric Face Scans or Credit Cards.

New KOSA (HR 7757) officially hit the House Floor. It's a new and direct threat to online anonymity.

Under Section 103(b)(2), the law explicitly states:

Section 103(e) says platforms cant be required to collect government IDs. So if clicking "I am 18" is illegal, and IDs are out, how do platforms are meant to verify you?

They will be legally forced to use third-party technology verification measures. This means mandatory biometric facial scanning or credit card authentication.

Section 201(5) applies this to any platform that uses user data to "make content recommendations." If a site has an algorithm or a "For You" feed (Reddit, X, TikTok, IG), it is caught in the net.
