Story of Pokopia - as I've been reading the comments left all over the towns.

Spoiler warning tag added cause not sure where everyone is in collecting the Memos and things.

It seems like so far the reason everything is falling apart and broken is that Humans have left earth and they couldn't bring pokemon with them. They left their partners behind in most of the memos they are sad about having to leave them. The state of the world looks like its been a long time since humans have been around maybe a few hundred years as buildings and ships have broken down and are in varying states of decay.

I wonder how long after the main story this takes place, as they talk about known gym leaders like Misty and LT Surge from Kanto region(I think it was Kanto) Anyways I'm curious why the Humans had to leave earth and where they went I haven't found one yet that explains why but I've only done 2 of the towns so far the First one and the Sea side town that is always dark.

But the broken stuff could also just be from earthquakes and things, but the state of how things are broken looks like things have just broken down over time, like the water systems leaking ect.

What do you guys think or what have you found?
