Thailand in April: Best Island Mix for 12/13 Days (Nature, adventures)

Other

Hi all!

Big Thailand lover here, I’ve been there five times, and this time I want to see something new.

I’m making Thailand part of a bigger Asia trip I’m doing in April. From the end of March to the third week of April, I’ll have 23 days of travel, of which roughly 15–16 will be in Thailand.

I’ve been to Bangkok many times (love it!) and plan to spend 2–3 days there as part of my stopover for my flight back to Europe. I’ve also been to Phuket twice.

This time, I’m looking for a nice beach break with clear waters but still woth lots to explore around as we get bored quick. My girlfriend and I (early 30s) aren’t really into partying/clubbing, but we love amazing nature, scooter rides, spas, maybe take a muri thai class, driving around exploring, diving (just did 1 so beginner) and local life, not total isolation, but no clubs either.

We were thinking about a mix of Koh Samui, Koh Tao, and Koh Phangan for roughly 12/13 days. Would this be too much? How would you recommend dividing the days among the islands?

Also, regarding bookings: would it work to just arrive and book a couple of nights on the spot (starting in Koh Samui since the airport is there), or is it better to pre-book everything in advance?

We’ve also loved Krabi and the nearby islands between Krabi and Phuket and loved it (besides rhe party arra of phuket which we didnt)? Any other tips or islands we might be missing?

Thanks in advance!
