is 2kg+ rolls overkill or is really useful?

Question

Hello 3D printing community,

I recently started a small e-commerce store in Saudi Arabia focused on reselling 3D printing filament. About a month ago I placed my first big order—around 300 rolls. I actually got very lucky because someone is interested in buying all of my white spools, which are 55 rolls in total.

Now I’m trying to figure out my next step.

I’m wondering if it would be worth restocking with larger spools—like 2kg, 3kg, or even 5kg—in the most commonly used colors. Or would that be overkill for most users? Since I’m still new to the industry, I honestly don’t have a clear sense of what experienced makers usually prefer.

The reason I started this store is simple: I really believe 3D printing is the future, and I’d like to help make reliable, affordable filament more accessible in Saudi Arabia.

This is my first e-commerce project, so any advice would mean a lot to me. I’d especially appreciate insights from actual 3D printing makers and users—people who work with printers every day—not just general marketing tips.

Also, feel free to share your thoughts on my current stock.

Thanks for taking the time to read. 💗
