I noticed it was a recurring trend in the early seasons for Laura to come up with a crazy idea and spend the whole episode getting upset when others don't go along with it

General discussion

One of the biggest examples is "The Gift", where Laura wants to gamble with the fund for Reverend Alden's gift. Out of ALL the items in the catalog (of which there must be hundreds of quality items in there), she settles on bottles of medicine. Who on Earth goes selling medicine door-to-door? When I was a kid, we sold sausage and cheese and chocolate but Laura is out there on the prairie hawking those worthless, mostly alcohol-based potions to poor folks.

The kicker with that is that Laura prodded Mary and prodded her until she finally gave in, then when the bottles didn't sell she lambasted Mary for going along with the idea...WHEN IT WAS HER IDEA IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Another one was the Halloween episode where she thinks Nels cut off Harriet's head. Everyone tries to explain to her it was just her seeing things and that Nels is a kind man and wouldn't do that sort of thing, but Laura just spends the entire episode in denial and believing the delusion that Nels is a murderer.

Fred the goat was another one. Laura gave away a week's worth of wages for him and he brought nothing but destruction and she spent the whole episode upset that nobody else liked him. I can't believe Charles was actually entertaining the idea of allowing Laura to bring Fred back at the end of the episode.

Any other examples?
