Is it just me or do most Kannada star films post-2010 have zero rewatch value?

Personal Opinion

Personal opinion, but I genuinely feel like our industry heroes have barely given us films with real re-watch value in the last 10-15 years.

I’m not talking about box office hits or opening weekend hype. I’m talking about movies you randomly stumble upon on TV or YouTube or social media and think “let me watch this again.”

When I look at the post-2010 era, I honestly struggle to list many from our biggest stars. Just from my personal rewatch list:

Sudeep - none

Darshan - none

Yash - only KGF chapter 1

Ganesh - none

Shivarajkumar - Kaddi Pudi, Tagaru

Puneeth Rajkumar - Jackie

Vijay - none

Upendra - none

Rakshit Shetty - Kirik Party

Rishab Shetty - Sarkari Hi. Pra. Shaale, Kasaragodu

And thats kind of worrying if you think about it. It feels like somewhere along the way we stopped prioritizing strong stories and started focusing more on fan service and Pan India packaging.

A lot of movies feel like they’re built to cash in on star power for the first weekend, not to actually age well.

Earlier eras had films that stayed with the audience for years. Movies people still revisit today because the writing, characters, music and emotions worked. Now many films look bigger and louder but feel emptier on repeat viewing.

So I’m genuinely curious: Are we moving toward style over substance? Have star vehicles become formula cash grabs? Or am I being unfair and missing some genuinely rewatchable films from the last decade?

Would love to hear what movies you guys still revisit from the post-2010 Kannada era.
