All of the female leads that Sai had paired with in the music videos where in their late-20s—Samyuktha Vishwanathan (27), Preity Mukhundhan (24), Meenakshi Chaudhary (29), Saanve Megghana (28) and now Kayadu Lohar (25)—and are pretty much older than Sai. But that doesn't mean that he has to be called "aunty lover" TBH, just because he had paired with older woman and the age difference isn't that much egregious. So that comment itself feels odd and regressive.

I'm not saying this in support of Sai. However, I genuinely feel like when a male artist pairing with much older female artist is being discouraged in films, and if that happens, the nicknames of "aunty lover" being flung casually, but when you remember Kollywood (also applicable for other industries) had normalized the practice of stars past their prime romancing co-stars who would be way younger than their daughters and granddaughters and audiences never questioned it. And also the practice of minor women being cast opposite grown adult men which was very prevalent since the 1950s.

I think even though the casting of male and female artists with egregious age gaps and minors being cast opposite adult male had been stopped or had reduced, but still there is a long way to go on accepting films regarding the older woman-younger man pair.

Why Sai is called "aunty lover" just because he paired with women older than him and they are in their late-20s?
